Starting French lessons with Ekaterina was one of the main things I’m grateful that I did when moving back to France. I do not have a particular aptitude for languages so without proper tuition I struggle to pick much up naturally and I lack the confidence to ever try speaking it in case it doesn’t end up going to plan. However, since beginning the lessons which I have now been having for two months, I feel a lot more confident to engage in basic everyday conversation and do things like order in French or try to phrase my questions in French. I certainly have a long way to go, however the conversational style at the start of the sessions have helped me widen my conversational knowledge base and also encourage me to try and speak in French even if I know it’s not going to be perfect. Although when I first started 2 one hour sessions a week felt quite daunting, the consistency and frequency ensure that your brain never really switches off from French and with the weekly homework’s, it means that you remain immersed in the language even to just a small extent in between sessions. It is a lot of new information each session and some topics I struggle with more than others, however Ekaterina is always very patient and happy to re explain things if I am struggling to grasp it first time. She is very approachable so I never feel silly for asking my questions or admitting that I don’t understand. She is also very flexible and accommodating when it comes to scheduling and homework’s so it is possible to fit the classes around even the busiest of timetables. To summarise if you are looking to learn French then I would absolutely recommend starting sessions with Ekaterina!
